AIPM in the Republic of Kazakhstan is a non-profit organization and it represents professional and business interests of international pharmaceutical manufacturers of drugs and medical equipment in the Kazakh market. The Association was established in March 1999. Its current membership includes more than 40 of the largest pharmaceutical companies of the world, registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan as non-resident companies.
The main goal is to promote establishment of an open pharmaceutical market, monitoring the observance of norms of activity in the pharmaceutical market, the development of a uniform policy of the Association members for meeting the demand for pharmaceutical drugs.
Tasks
While representing the companies AIPM considers its priority to cooperate with the health authorities, as well as legislative and executive branches in order to develop programs to create favorable conditions for the sale of products of international pharmaceutical companies in the territory of Kazakhstan.
The specific objectives of the Association are as follows:
Creating and supporting an enabling environment for business activities of member companies of the Association in Kazakhstan;
Establishing and maintaining contacts with health authorities, government agencies and business community.
Cooperation and exchange of healthcare information with the government, health authorities, Kazakh and international scientific and professional organizations.
Organization of legal and other necessary support for the protection of rights and interests of the Association members in Kazakhstan.
Informing members of the Association of any major developments related to health and medical business.
Organizational structure and membership
The Association is controlled and managed by the general meeting of all head officer of offices of the AIPM member companies, Board of the Association, the President and administrative staff - Executive Director.
The GENERAL MEETING is the supreme governing body of the Association. The General Meeting is convened at least once in two months. The General Meeting elects the Association's Board and the President of the Association.
THE PRESIDENT AND THE MANAGING BOARD OF THE ASSOCIATION manage the activities of the Association between the meetings, choose a policy and monitor the work of the Secretariat, and manage assets of the Association.
Membership
Membership in the Association is open to pharmaceutical companies engaged in research and development and manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, operating in accordance with the GMP and GLP standards. Manufacturers of medical devices and other health products that meet international quality standards may also become members of the AIPM.
Activities of the Association
In order to perform its tasks the AIPM organizes its internal and external work, analyzes and disseminates information among its members and partners of the Association, establishes and maintains contacts with foreign and international Associations of pharmaceutical manufacturers.
AIPM members receive information materials and services provided by AIPM.
AIPM’s important task is the development of active partnership with health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry. In order to maintain such a dialogue AIPM uses the experience of the Association member companies in its work; develops various programs and provides services. These include:
1. Professional Services. AIPM representatives meet regularly with representatives of government agencies, business community, legislators, journalists, scientists and medical professionals to exchange information on matters related to legislation and regulations in the field of health care, registration, import licenses, tariffs, production quality control, clinical trials and other important issues. In its activities AIPM actively uses capabilities of the Association member companies. AIPM has established business cooperation with the Russian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AIPM), resulting in maintaining a constant exchange of information.
2. Seminars and conferences. AIPM is engage in the organization of professional conferences, symposia and meetings on pressing issues of pharmaceutical activity, as well as seminars on accounting and taxation for foreign representation offices in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
3. Lectures. AIPM invites prominent health workers, representatives of government and public agencies and of the media to speak at the General Meetings and other events. This activity helps AIPM and its members to carry out a direct exchange of information and to engage in productive dialogue.
Policy Formulation
When formulating the policy of the Association, AIPM uses the experience and capabilities of its members, as well as direct contacts with various international organizations.
Through sales and marketing activities of the AIPM member companies, new ways of distributing products in the territory of Kazakhstan have been discovered, which contributed to a rapid and uniform supply of various regions with essential medicines and technology information. Many companies have representatives in different cities of Kazakhstan.
The value of activities of the Association member companies for health care in Kazakhstan
Association member companies monitor production and sale of pharmaceutical products. Thanks to their medical and scientific experience, as well as "know-how" they play an important part in supplying Kazakhstan with the necessary products. While making modern drugs, AIPM member companies provide public access to the most advanced pharmaceuticals and medical products, available on the world market.
Association members include pharmaceutical companies, which have their own research centers, and they are definitely interested in and looking for new ways of cooperation with Kazakhstani partners. Members of the Association actively cooperate with research centers, institutes, departments and clinical institutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan; promote introduction of new technologies in Kazakhstan's healthcare and support medical science.
